Flinstones Nail Art: About These Nails
I have really been enjoying creating cartoon nail art
lately. It's time consuming and a little tedious sometimes but it is SO much fun to wear. When people see your nails and they're instantly recognizable, you get some great feedback. I was trying to think of my next cartoon manicure and my friend suggested The Flintstones. I thought it was a great idea and it didn't take me long to decide exactly what I wanted to do.
What I Used
1. OPI A Roll in the Hague
2. Sally Hansen Blue Me Away
3. Sally Hansen Black Out
4. Sally Hansen White On
5. Julep Olivia
6. ORLY Fancy Fuchsia
7. Wet n Wild Private Viewing
8. Seche Vite
9. Dotting tools
10. Nail Art brushes
Each nail is inspired by a character from the show. Instead of using their faces, I thought it would be cute to use their outfits. On my thumb, I did Fred Flintstone's tie and shirt. My index finger is Fred's wife Wilma's "pearl" necklace and dress. My middle finger is Barney Rubble's shirt. Betty Rubble's dress is on my ring finger. (I noticed, after the fact, that I got the neckline of her dress completely wrong but it's still cute, right? Ha ha.) On my pinky, we have the Flintstones' pet dinosaur, Dino. Of course, he doesn't wear clothes so I did his patterning and collar.
I had so much fun doing this design. I wonder what I will choose for my next cartoon nail art...
